The Hope Snapshot is a free educational self-reflection tool from Stephen Trzeciak, MD and Anthony Mazzarelli, MD, the authors of The Hope Effect. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and what we don't.

Your answers

Your responses to the six questions are processed in your browser to calculate your score. Your individual answers are never transmitted to us, stored by us, or shared with anyone. When you close the page, they're gone.

Your email address

Providing your email is optional—you can see your results without it. If you do share it, we use it to send your Hope Profile report and occasional science-of-hope notes from the authors, including news about the book. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe. We never sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone. Email delivery is handled by our email service provider on our behalf.

Anonymous statistics

We retain anonymous, aggregate statistics—for example, how many people take the Snapshot, overall score patterns, and which parts of the page people use—via standard web analytics. These statistics are not connected to your name, your email, or anything that identifies you.

Not medical care
